Bring to a boil then lower light cover pot and simmer about 30 minutes till vegetables are soft. Let cool slightly then put through a blender or use a hand blender to puree. Serve with a slight sprinkle of cinnamon if desired.
  1. Cooks in 1 hour or with an instant pot at a soup setting 30 minutes
  2. : )

    1. Then add in the butter, half and half and cream cheese. Use a stick blender to mix remaining chunks into a smooth consistency! Its absolutely yummy!! I did add in a little more Himalayan pink salt, pepper and curry powder to give a little more flavor. Serve and Enjoy!

Let's start blogging!

Rose City Natural Healing blogger...

Hello, for those of you who do not know me let me introduce myself!
My name is Maria Elena and I have a huge passion for spreading awareness of natural holistic medicine, beauty products, cleaning products, and everyday living.

I have decided to start blogging and there will be many topics I plan to cover. This is a blog for questions, sharing love for our planet, creation, love, passion, and healthy living.

This is also a blog for all who want to learn more and all who are thirsty for inspiring alternatives and taking control of your life!  My goal is to only bring light to the world!

ABOUT ME:
I am a recent Oregon College Of Oriental Medicine graduate from the top #1 Eastern medical school in our country. I graduated with a Masters in Oriental Medicine and Chinese Herbs MAcOM. This journey of a four year program was no walk in the park and was quite difficult to get through, but I did it! Because of my big heart to share my knowledge and love I decided to start my business in 2012. You can visit Rose City Natural Healing to learn more! We offer products from skin care, beauty, household items, and wide range of herbal remedies from relaxing  you to decorations to aid healing from injuries.

I am currently working on seeing where the Lord takes me in better serving those who are in search of knowing their alternatives in medical care and introducing Eastern medicine to all who do not yet know of the amazing treatments of acupuncture, Chinese herbs, tui na, aromatherapy and what nutrition can offer.

So let's get started!

Topic 1 - Sunscreen what is safe?

Why is it important to know what is in your sunscreen?
It is a beautiful 90 degrees here in Portland, OR and we all know that with the sun beating down we need to protect our skin. When you are looking for a good sunscreen you want to find one that uses organic ingredients without pesticides and toxic chemicals. It is also important to make sure that the sunscreen is talc free, non-nano zinc oxide!

What is zinc oxide? Zinc oxide is a mineral that sits on top of the skin. It can stand alone as a sunblock because of its ability to effectively stand against UVA , UVB and UVC rays.

What is nano vs. non-nano? A nano particle will enter the blood stream but a non-nano will not. For that reason, non-nano is safer. Chemical sunscreens will enter the bloodstream and that is why DNA altering ingredients like oxybenzone have gotten such bad press lately.

So be safe out there and make sure when you read the ingredients you can easily say their names. If it's too hard to pronounce, then it's probably not a natural ingredient and is harmful. Rose City Natural Healing Organic Sunscreen. Enjoy the sun!

I encourage you to share my posts on your google+ and facebook accounts. I appreciate you helping me to spread the word of my blogs and my online store.

Shining Light & Awareness to the World,
Maria Elena
